Bitcoin at a Crossroads: Trillions of Institutional Capital or Breakdown

Bitcoin is stuck in a narrow trading range near $65,000, setting up what analysts describe as a textbook volatility squeeze. The momentum indicators are flatlined, but derivatives data shows that smart money is leaning long with a taker buy/sell ratio of 1.34 and top traders 56.3% net long.

The key upside trigger is a four-hour close above $65,387, which would target the upper Bollinger Band at $66,296. A breakdown below $64,461 would expose the 50-day SMA at $63,373.

Meanwhile, Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan projects that a 1% allocation from the $100-200 trillion institutional asset pool could drive bitcoin to $1.3 million by 2035, with adoption rolling through financial advisors, pension funds, and sovereign wealth funds over the next decade.
