Bitcoin-Backed Loans Fuel Hyperscale Data's Michigan Expansion
Hyperscale Data, Inc., which operates under the ticker GPUS, has secured $30 million through Bitcoin-backed borrowing on the Morpho Protocol. This financing strategy allows the company to tap into decentralized lending without relinquishing control of its digital assets.
The loan structure carries a variable interest rate of approximately 4.9%, with Hyperscale Data retaining ownership of the pledged Bitcoin assets as collateral. The company will direct part of the $30 million toward expanding its Michigan data center campus, which is central to its long-term infrastructure strategy.
This move reflects Hyperscale Data's shift in approach, utilizing its Bitcoin treasury as a financing asset rather than a passive reserve. By leveraging decentralized borrowing, the company aims to reduce reliance on traditional lenders and minimize the need for dilutive equity offerings.
