Bitcoin Bancorp Buys Crypto ATMs for Fraction of Original Value
Bitcoin Bancorp, a small digital asset infrastructure company based in Las Vegas, has made a significant acquisition in the crypto ATM space. The company purchased more than 2,500 cryptocurrency ATMs from bankrupt Bitcoin Depot for just over $620,000.
The deal was completed through Bitcoin Depot's Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, with Bitcoin Bancorp winning the bid to buy 2,547 ATMs. This is a steep discount compared to the original value of the property and equipment, which was valued at more than $26 million as recently as Q4 2025.
Bitcoin Depot had filed for bankruptcy in May after a rough first quarter, with revenue falling 49% compared to the same period a year earlier. The company's CEO, Alex Holmes, pointed to tighter regulation as a key factor, citing compliance rules, transaction limits, and outright bans on crypto ATM operations that made the business model 'unsustainable'.
Bitcoin Bancorp is now acquiring not only the ATMs but also intellectual property, trademarks, patents, and the BitcoinDepot.com domain for an additional $110,500. The company sees this deal as a way to expand its physical network without building infrastructure from scratch.
