Bitcoin Beats XRP by a Wide Margin in Dollar-Cost Averaging Showdown
The performance of dollar-cost averaging (DCA) strategies in Bitcoin and XRP has been compared over the past year. Starting in July 2025, buying $100 worth of XRP each month accumulated roughly 819 tokens for a total investment of $1,400 by January 2026. However, this position is now down 41.5%.
A similar DCA approach in Bitcoin, starting three months later when the price reached $126,000 on October 6, 2025, put in around $1,100 and bought 0.01418 BTC over 11 months. This investment has held up better at a 16.5% loss.
The XRP price needs to reach $1.71 to recover the full $1,400 invested, while Bitcoin must reclaim approximately $77,600 to recoup its $1,100.
