Bitcoin Blasts Past $81K Before Retreating on Tuesday
Bitcoin broke above $81,000 on Tuesday for the first time since mid-May and reached a seven-day gain of roughly 25% before pulling back to $79,000.
The move was supported by strong spot buying and improving liquidity, while futures positioning remained bullish but restrained, with long positions accounting for more than 51% of taker flow.
Bitcoin dominance rose as the broader market continued rising, with its market capitalization climbing to about $1.6 trillion and total crypto market capitalization reaching nearly $2.77 trillion.
Altcoins participated unevenly, with Solana gaining around 7%, but Bitcoin regained relative strength and pushed its dominance higher as several major altcoins lagged.
