Bitcoin Blazes Past Tech Giants in Market Value
Bitcoin has surged past two of the world's biggest listed companies in market capitalization after its price climbed last week. According to CompaniesMarketCap, Bitcoin's market cap is now $1.615 trillion, surpassing Elon Musk-led Tesla with a market value of $1.438 trillion and Samsung with a current market value of $1.237 trillion.
Bitcoin's recent rebound saw its price hit a high of $81,914 on Saturday, causing its market capitalization to reach about $1.63 trillion on September 20, 2026. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the digital currency, solidifying its position among the world's largest assets.
The crypto market has been resilient in the face of adversity, with the Fed rate hike and the Clarity Act failing to deter bulls as Bitcoin and other crypto assets rose. The Securities and Exchange Commission's recent order creating a regulatory pathway for certain trading venues to issue tokenized representations of publicly traded U.S. stocks has also contributed to the market's upward trend.
