Bitcoin Borrowing Set to Grow as Market Matures
Hunter Albright, Chief Revenue Officer of SALT Lending, believes that borrowing against Bitcoin will become more common as the market matures. He predicts a growing percentage of Bitcoin holders will borrow against their assets rather than sell them.
This shift could change how Bitcoin and stablecoins function together. According to Albright, people who borrow against their Bitcoin and use stablecoins for liquidity are creating 'money in motion' versus 'money at rest.' This distinction highlights the speed and utility of conversion between the two asset types.
To reach this point, more than just building lending products is needed. Greater education around both Bitcoin and borrowing against it will be necessary before borrowing becomes mainstream. SALT Lending has made education a part of its efforts in the market.
