Bitcoin's price rebounded past $78,000 on Monday after dipping to a low of $76,464 over the weekend. The move was attributed to growing optimism around the CLARITY Act, with market data showing that Republican revisions to the bill had won over hesitant Democrats.

The top cryptocurrency initially teetered on a sharp downturn, tumbling from around $77,400 to its Sunday night low before bouncing back above $77,000. A second rally lifted it above $78,000 for the first time since Friday, but it stalled below $78,300 and dropped back below $78,000.

However, the price rallied for a third time, appearing to find support above $78,400. As of publication, Bitcoin's price hovered around $78,882, leaving it with a market capitalization of approximately $1.58 trillion. The cryptocurrency remains virtually unchanged from its Sept. 1 opening price.
