Institutional Investors Flood Altcoin ETFs with Over $1.6 Billion
Institutional investors are pouring money into two altcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), XRP and Solana, which have seen significant inflows in recent months. The Volatility Shares Trust XRP ETF NASDAQ: XRPI has experienced a combined $150 million in inflows during August, making it the strongest month of the year so far.
The fund's asset base now stands at nearly $110 million, with an expense ratio of 1.68% that eats into potential gains by a wider margin than traditional ETFs. Despite this, investors have shown confidence in the fund through a series of strong inflows, which may help convince retail investors that it is a worthwhile vehicle for exploring XRP.
The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF NYSEARCA: BSOL offers a different approach to accessing the altcoin space by providing investors with the chance to benefit from staking rewards tied to the Solana blockchain. Its net staking reward rate as of mid-September is approximately 5.5%, a nice bonus on top of its 35% one-month returns.
