Bitcoin Breakout: Clearing $83,000-$86,000 Resistance Band Crucial for Sustained Gains

Bitcoin's rebound is facing a crucial test as analysts from Glassnode warn that breaking above $83,000-$86,000 would be necessary to sustain its advance. This resistance band contains a significant concentration of long-term holder (LTH) supply and the estimated breakeven for spot ETFs.

The volume in this range has remained relatively steady over the past month, with LTHs having acquired around 1.07 million BTC, particularly near $85,000. The proximity to cost basis does not necessarily mean holders will sell en masse, as Glassnode noted that long-term investors are realizing profits less actively.

However, if buyers push the price higher, short liquidations could provide additional support between $82,000 and $86,000, where clusters of forced closing levels for short positions lie. The estimated size of these short positions has grown 21% since August 19.
