Bitcoin Breakout Signals End of Crypto Winter
The crypto winter may be over for Bitcoin, according to recent technical analysis. Michael Boutros, Senior Market Analyst at StoneX Media, examined the weekly, daily and monthly charts of BTC/USD and found a major breakout signal. The current decline has lasted 37 weeks, which is significantly shorter than the previous two declines. This could indicate that the worst of the bear market may be behind us.
The weekly momentum reading now matches what was seen when the record high for Bitcoin was set. However, this also cuts both ways, and it's not a definitive confirmation of the end of the crypto winter. The daily chart remains in overbought condition, which could be a warning sign.
Several factors contributed to the recent breakout, including $1.4 billion in inflows into Bitcoin ETFs across two sessions, fresh corporate treasury buying, and a short squeeze. These events all helped push BTC/USD back above its 52-week moving average for the first time in 44 weeks.
