Bitcoin Breaks $100,000 Threshold as Analysts See Path to $100,000
Bitcoin (BTC) had its best quarter since the final three months of 2024, posting a 42.6% gain. The cryptocurrency closed the third quarter at $83,624, its highest quarterly close since 2024.
The rally marked the end of three consecutive losing quarters for BTC. According to Oliver Carding, head of marketing at Tesseract Group, spot bitcoin ETFs took in about $3.1 billion over nine September sessions.
The price action is significant, as it has broken above the 50-month exponential moving average, now near $67,434. This level provides support on the monthly chart.
Maxime Seiler, CEO and co-founder of STS Digital, noted that the usual link between bond yields and the price of BTC has broken. The 10-year real yield closed at 2.93% on September 30, which is within the range where BTC traded on September 18, when it topped $80,000.
Paul Howard, senior director at Wincent, remains optimistic about BTC breaking $100,000 by year-end, citing a sustained break above $90,000 as a key indicator.
