Bitcoin Breaks 45-Week Drought Above Key Technical Level
Bitcoin has reclaimed its 50-week moving average for the first time in nearly a year. The largest cryptocurrency closed at $81,159 on September 20, surpassing its long-term technical level of $78,786.
This milestone marks the first weekly close above the indicator since November 9, 2025, when Bitcoin reached its all-time high above $126,000 in October.
Galaxy Research notes that reclaiming the 50-week moving average has historically been a strong signal of a potential bear-market bottom. During sustained bull markets, Bitcoin usually remains above this level, while losing it often triggers a substantial correction.
