Bitcoin Breaks $80,000 Barrier Amid ETF Frenzy and Regulatory Optimism

Bitcoin has broken through the $80,000 mark for the first time since May, sparking renewed optimism in the crypto market. The world's largest cryptocurrency rose to an intraday high of $80,995.43 before easing to $79,847.60, up 3.66% at the time of reporting.

The surge was driven by strong ETF inflows, a weaker US dollar, and improving liquidity conditions, according to industry experts. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $337.56 million in net inflows on August 24, their seventh consecutive day of inflows, with weekly inflows topping $2.5 billion.

While analysts remain cautious about declaring a new bull cycle, they agree that the growing involvement of long-term institutional capital and improving regulatory clarity point to a maturing crypto market. 'This reflects a broader trend of digital assets becoming more integrated into mainstream financial markets,' said John O'Loghlen, Managing Director, APAC, at Coinbase.
