Bitcoin Breaks $80k as US Regulators Fuel Crypto Rally
Crypto markets have ended the week on a high note as Bitcoin reclaimed the $80,000 mark and major altcoins posted significant gains. The surge comes amidst ongoing regulatory momentum in the US, with both the SEC and CFTC pushing forward with digital asset rulemaking.
The advance is despite the Clarity Act stalling in the Senate, which some had seen as a potential setback for crypto regulation. However, regulators continue to press ahead with their own initiatives, including the SEC's innovation exemption and the CFTC's submission of new rules for review.
Among major cryptocurrencies, Solana and Hyperliquid led gains, surging around 10% each. Hyperliquid reached a record high above $90 and introduced manual borrowing capabilities, allowing users to collateralize HYPE and BTC for stablecoin loans in USDC and USDT.
