Bitcoin Breaks $80k Barrier as Altcoins Soar

Bitcoin's price has broken through the $80,000 mark, reaching $80,450 as of September 18. This represents a 5% increase from the previous day.

The altcoin market is also experiencing significant gains, with Near Protocol (NEAR) jumping 31.11%, Arbitrum (ARB) rising 29.84%, Uniswap (UNI) gaining 25.12%, and Aptos (APT) advancing 20.76%.

These gains can be attributed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) recent announcement of an 'innovation exemption' plan, which will temporarily allow tokenized stock trading for the next five years. This move has raised expectations that the use of related blockchain infrastructure will increase as well.
