Bitcoin Breaks Out to Highest Level Since January Amid Oil Price Decline
Bitcoin's price has broken out of its recent range, reaching its highest level since January this year. The BTC/USD pair surged to $87,000 on September 22, a 50% increase from its lowest point this year.
The sudden jump in Bitcoin's price comes as investors shift their focus towards risk-on assets, driven by the decline in crude oil prices below $100. This decrease has sparked hopes of potential talks between US and Iranian leaders at the UN General Assembly, which could lead to lower oil prices and a new security architecture in the region.
Leaders from countries like Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia have expressed interest in talking directly with Iran, potentially leading to major deals and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. This development has contributed to the surge in Bitcoin's price, as investors rotate towards risky assets.
The BTC/USD pair has formed a cup-and-handle pattern on its daily chart, indicating a bullish breakout. Analysts predict that the price will continue rising, targeting an overshoot level of $90,600. However, there is also an alternative scenario where the price drops and retests the support at $82,000 before resuming the uptrend.
