Bitcoin Breaks September Curse with Strongest Month Since 2012
Bitcoin's September performance is exceeding expectations as it marks its strongest month in over a decade. The cryptocurrency has gained around 10% since the beginning of the month, with historical data showing that this is its best performance for the month since 2012.
This milestone is notable because September has traditionally been one of Bitcoin's weakest calendar months. In fact, from 2017 to 2022, Bitcoin recorded negative September returns six consecutive years. However, in recent years, the trend has started to shift, with positive returns seen in 2023 and 2024.
The current advance is nearing the level reached in September 2012, when Bitcoin gained roughly 13.1%. While some historical datasets may calculate this return differently due to variations in exchanges and closing-price methodology, one thing is clear: Bitcoin's recent surge has been remarkable.
