Bitcoin Breaks Through $87,000 Barrier as Institutional Money Floods In
Bitcoin soared to an eight-month high of over $87,000 on Monday after a frenetic 24-hour stretch that saw it gain more than $7,000 and trigger a cascade of liquidations approaching the $1 billion mark.
The rally pulled the broader digital asset market higher, with Ethereum touching $2,800 for the first time this year and XRP reclaiming a key resistance level at $1.50.
The decisive catalyst came from institutional money, with spot bitcoin ETFs recording net inflows of $433 million on Friday, while spot Ethereum funds pulled in another $143.8 million.
