Bitcoin Brushes Off Equity Divergence with Modest Gains
Bitcoin (BTC) saw modest gains on Thursday, rising about 0.22% to trade near $64,684 as the broader cryptocurrency market also ticked up.
The move came despite US equities hovering near record highs, with markets tracking developments surrounding a potential agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Thahbis Rahman, Research Analyst at Block Scholes, Bitcoin has not enjoyed the same success as US equities in recent months. Since the start of 2025, the S&P 500 has returned more than +25%, while BTC is down close to -35%.
However, derivatives data pointed toward a more constructive outlook for Bitcoin, with several indicators showing improving sentiment beneath the surface.
