Bitcoin Bull Cycle Begins with Average Gain Projection of $90,379
The latest crypto bull cycle began on August 20, 2026, when Bitcoin's price closed above its 200-day moving average. This marks the end of a 290-day bear market cycle and the start of a new bull run, which is projected to last around 237 days on average, according to data from CoinGecko.
Looking at historical data since 2014, Bitcoin's price has gained an average of +130.5% during each bull cycle, excluding the outlier 2015-2018 ICO and Halving Cycle Mania, which saw a massive gain of +7,844.3%. The current bull run is expected to reach its peak with a price of $159,634 by the end of this cycle.
However, CoinGecko cautions that gains have been compressing since 2022, and prices may be lower than projected at the end of this bull cycle. The recent post-FTX recovery rally, as well as other cycles since 2023, have seen significantly lower returns compared to previous years.
