Bitcoin Bull Run Ignored by Public, Google Trends Data Suggests
The price of Bitcoin has surged to $86,539, and its market capitalization is now at $1.74 trillion. However, despite the uptrend in prices, one key indicator suggests that a significant portion of the public remains unaware of this development.
According to Ki Young Ju, founder and CEO of CryptoQuant, 'Bitcoin bull run just started, but no one cares.' This statement is backed by data from Google Trends, which measures normalized public search interest on a 0-100 scale relative to peak historical interest for a given search term. The current reading for Bitcoin is approximately 6-8, far below the prior cycle peaks of 19 in 2021 and 29 in 2017.
The divergence between AI and Bitcoin search interest is striking. While AI is currently registering at maximum normalized popularity (80-100), Bitcoin's search interest remains relatively low. This has led some to speculate that retail attention may never materialize at historical scale, potentially limiting the price ceiling for sentiment-driven appreciation.
