Bitcoin Cash II Forks BC2, Distributes 2.66M Coins
Bitcoin Cash II (BCH2) launched on March 8, 2026, as a result of a chain fork from BC2 (BitcoinII) at block height 53,200. This event distributed approximately 2,660,000 coins to all BC2 holders at a 1:1 ratio, with no premine, initial coin offering, or developer allocation.
BCH2 inherits the complete transaction history of BC2 and uses Bitcoin Cash consensus rules, featuring 32 MB blocks for scalability. The network also employs the ASERT difficulty adjustment algorithm to maintain stable block times and supports Schnorr signature and native introspection opcodes.
The protocol includes upgrades through Bitcoin Cash Upgrade 11, including the Adaptive Blocksize Limit Algorithm (ABLA) for dynamic block size adjustment based on network demand. BCH2's mining schedule follows Bitcoin's halving schedule with a current block reward of 50 BCH2 and a maximum supply of 21,000,000.
BCH2 operates its own DNS seeders across multiple geographic regions, a public block explorer, a web-based wallet, and an open-source desktop wallet built on Bitcoin Core v27.0.0. The project is actively traded on NonKYC.io with a BCH2/USDT pair.
