Bitcoin Closes Performance Gap with S&P 500 as Price Surges Above $75K
Bitcoin has made a significant comeback in its relative performance to the S&P 500 over the past three months. According to Glassnode's session rewind chart, the BTC-to-S&P 500 ratio had declined from around 3x to nearly 2.2x. However, with Bitcoin's recent rally pushing its price above $75K, this gap has been closed.
The sharp price action in the past four trading sessions brought the ratio back up to approximately 2.82x. This is despite the S&P 500 being up around 20% from its September 2025 starting point.
The factors that contributed to Bitcoin's resurgence include the $1.92 billion in BTC ETF market over the past week, expectations around U.S. crypto legislation, and Treasury actions that helped calm bond-market stress. Additionally, The Kobeissi Letter has predicted that the probability of Bitcoin finishing 2026 above $90,000 has jumped from 12% to 48%.
However, despite this bullish rally, there is still uncertainty surrounding Bitcoin's next move. As the RSI index has entered the overbought territory, a pullback may be imminent. Nevertheless, AMBCrypto's analysis suggests that a break above $75K could open the path toward 83,307-84,569.
