Upbit Surges Past $830 Million in Hourly Trading Volume
South Korea's Upbit exchange saw a record-breaking hourly trading volume of $830 million on Saturday, led by XRP and TRUMP. The surge extends a rebound that began the previous day, when Upbit's daily volume jumped 273% to roughly $1.84 billion.
XRP dominated the charge, accounting for 32.20% of Upbit's 24-hour trading volume, while TRUMP contributed 10.93%. USDT followed in third place with 8.39%, and Ethereum and Bitcoin rounded out the top five at 5.44% and 5.40%, respectively.
The record hourly volume is a significant milestone for Upbit, which saw its operating revenue decline by nearly 50% during the first half of 2026. The rebound follows months of weaker trading activity in South Korea, where investors favored domestic equities over cryptocurrencies.
