Bitcoin.com Integrates UAE-Regulated Stablecoin USDU into Wallet
Bitcoin.com has partnered with Universal Digital Intl Limited to integrate the UAE-regulated USDU stablecoin into its self-custody wallet. The move makes USDU, a dollar-backed token, available on Ethereum for over a million users worldwide.
USDU is issued by Universal under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in Abu Dhabi Global Market and holds a registration as the first Foreign Payment Token with the Central Bank of the UAE. Each token is backed 1:1 by liquid U.S. dollar reserves held at regulated UAE banks.
'Regulation has become the defining question for stablecoins,' said Corbin Fraser, Chief Executive Officer of Bitcoin.com. 'USDU's registration and monthly attested 1:1 reserves are exactly what users can verify for themselves.'
