Bitcoin Consolidation Near $80K: Buyers Face Crucial Test Above $85K
Bitcoin is currently consolidating near the $80,000 mark after a recent rally to approximately $82,400. The price movement followed a decisive breakout above the $65,000-$65,050 resistance zone, allowing Bitcoin to reclaim $70,000 and extend its recovery above $80,000.
The latest pause in the market could develop into a bullish continuation pattern, but buyers still face an important test. Until Bitcoin can establish a sustained break above $85,000, the next major leg higher remains uncertain.
A decisive breakout above $85,000 would strengthen the bullish structure and potentially shift attention toward $89,000 before opening the door to the psychological $100,000 level. However, another rejection could quickly change the picture, with a break below $75,000 weakening the recovery and increasing the risk of a deeper correction.
The recent movement has also attracted attention due to 600 BTC being moved from addresses that had remained dormant for more than 16 years. The coins were distributed across 12 addresses and originated from mining rewards associated with 12 Bitcoin blocks mined in March 2010, when miners received a 50 BTC block subsidy for each block.
Blockchain researchers have found no evidence supporting the connection to Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, limiting the significance of the transactions beyond their historical curiosity.
