Bitcoin Core 32 Enters Final Testing Ahead of Possible Oct 10 Release
Bitcoin Core version 32 has entered its final testing phase before a possible release on October 10. The software has undergone weeks of public checks, and developers have identified several key improvements. One major change is the ability to read data from the database in parallel while checking blocks, which can shorten validation time without increasing block production rate.
Additionally, four wallet commands will use PSBT version 2 by default, but the older format will still be available for users who require it. This change does not affect Bitcoin balances or private keys and is primarily related to wallet workflows and applications that interact with these commands.
The release candidate also includes security fixes for custom wallet names and unauthenticated HTTP activity, which can cause memory growth and command execution issues.
