Bitcoin Could Reach $1 Million with Just 2% Global Allocation
Ric Edelman, founder of Edelman Financial Engines, predicts that Bitcoin could reach $1 million if global investors allocate just 2% of their assets to it. He also believes that a 1% allocation would push the price to $500,000 by 2030.
Speaking at the Bitcoin Treasuries panel on Tuesday, Edelman emphasized the importance of portfolio diversification and encouraged financial advisors to educate themselves about Bitcoin's benefits. 'If the world owns all those assets just allocates 1% of their portfolio to Bitcoin, that's $500,000,' he said.
'If the world owns 2%, then it's a million.' Edelman stressed that his investment horizon extends from 2030 to 2035 and urged advisors to focus on the long-term potential of Bitcoin rather than its quarterly performance. He also questioned why most retail and institutional investors remain outside the Bitcoin market, citing a 'messaging problem' in effectively communicating the benefits of cryptocurrency.
Edelman shared his reasoning for a $500,000 price target by 2030, agreeing with Strive CEO Matt Cole's prediction but differing from Cole's macroeconomic outlook. He pointed to the potential for global investors to allocate a small portion of their portfolios to Bitcoin as a key driver of its growth.
