Bitcoin Crashes Below $63K Amid Widespread Crypto Selloff
Bitcoin's price plummeted to $62,844 on Tuesday morning after massive liquidations from both long-term and short-term holders. This marks the third time this week that Bitcoin has fallen below $64,000.
The selling pressure resulted in over $100 million in BTC being liquidated in just one hour, with the majority of those holding coins being long-position holders who have given up on the coin's potential climb back to $100,000 or higher.
Throughout July, particularly in the latter part of the month, Bitcoin has struggled to surpass the $65,000 mark, and it appears that this level will become a key proving ground for the coin over the next week or so. As a result, investors are no longer expecting a bull trend but rather the ability for Bitcoin to hold its ground above $65,000.
The cryptocurrency market as a whole is currently bearish, with Bitcoin leading the way at 2% losses over 24 hours. Other notable cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Gram also suffered similar losses, while XRP and Solana fell by 3%. The widespread selloff suggests that investors are looking to minimize their losses rather than maximize profits, putting Bitcoin in a troublesome spot.
