Bitcoin Crashes Below $84K as Altcoins Plummet
Bitcoin's (BTC) price surge earlier this week was short-lived as it dropped below $84,000 after correcting from its gains. The asset jumped about $7,000 in roughly 12 hours but then plummeted, signaling sharp short-term volatility in the crypto market.
The correction began yesterday evening and culminated today with BTC's price drop to under $84,000. Major altcoins followed suit, with Ethereum (ETH) slipping below $2,700 and XRP plunging over 7% to below $1.50.
LiteCoin (LTC) was one of the few exceptions, holding up against the sell-off. This development could tighten DeFi and DEX liquidity and raise short-term trading risk.
