Bitcoin Cycle Momentum Shifts to Bullish Territory Amid Institutional Demand
The Bitcoin Cycle Momentum indicator has signaled the onset of a macro bull run after eight months in negative territory. This momentum metric, which measures the difference between CryptoQuant's PnL Index and its 365-day moving average, has returned to positive territory for the first time since September 2, 2026.
Bitcoin's market capitalization added over $280 billion in the past 30 days, reaching $1.54 trillion on that date. Historically, positive values have signaled an active bull cycle, and this regime filter shows that Bitcoin bulls have regained control.
Gaah, a verified author at CryptoQuant, noted that for the reversal signal to be confirmed, the indicator needs to reach a level between 20-30 in the coming weeks, continuing the upward trend in price recovery. However, it's essential to wait and see if this momentum continues as strong institutional demand, led by BlackRock Inc. and Strategy Inc., has fueled recent gains.
The $BTC price has climbed over 22% in the past 30 days, but year-to-date (YTD), it still trails with a 12.36% decline. A continued upward trend could accelerate Bitcoin's recovery amid strong institutional demand.
