Despite escalating tensions in the Middle East, Bitcoin held its ground above $77,000 on August 31. Oil prices rose as a result of geopolitical uncertainty, while gold and equities retreated. West Texas Intermediate futures climbed by nearly 2% to $85.10 a barrel, and Brent crude increased by 1.9% to $92.39.

Gold fell by 0.8% to $4,418 an ounce, and Nasdaq futures slipped 0.5%. Major Asian stock markets also traded lower. However, Bitcoin delivered stronger returns than other assets, with a gain of 23% in August, outperforming gold's 9% rise and the Nasdaq's 4% advance.

Recent strength in Bitcoin has been linked to increased liquidity after the Treasury Department expanded its bond buyback program. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $2.8 billion in net inflows over the past two weeks. Uncertainty remains over U.S. monetary policy, with Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh stating that inflation had not been contained enough.

Vikram Subburaj, chief executive officer of Giottus, cautioned traders against excessive leverage given elevated macroeconomic uncertainty. He identified Bitcoin's near-term support at $77,000 and a key resistance zone between $79,400 and $80,800.
