Bitcoin Defies Tech Stock Selloff with Steady Price Above $64K
Bitcoin continued to hold steady near $64,250 on Wednesday, posting a marginal daily gain as global semiconductor stocks plummeted.
The cryptocurrency market remained relatively stable despite a sharp decline in technology stocks. Solana led gains among major cryptocurrencies, climbing 2% to nearly $77 and remaining slightly higher for the week.
Ethereum rose around 1% to above $1,900, bringing its seven-day gain to roughly 1.5%. XRP recovered almost 1% to trade just below $1, although the token remains down about 2% over the past week.
The sharp decline in global technology stocks was led by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, which plummeted more than 7% in Seoul. This contributed to South Korea's Kospi falling over 6%, while MSCI's Asia Pacific index declined about 2%.
