Bitcoin Difficulty Rises 1.31% as Hashprice Surges 22%
Bitcoin's mining difficulty saw an increase of 1.31% to 127.45 trillion at block height 965664, marking its eighth rise in 2026.
The latest change was due to the network clocking a total of 18 distinct difficulty changes since January this year.
Despite the moderate difficulty rise, Bitcoin's hashprice surged by 22.24% from $32.42 to $39.63 per PH/s per day, while hashrate remained below 1 ZH/s at 934 EH/s.
The network's dependence on BTC's price is evident as miner profits remain tied to the cryptocurrency's value, with fees in blocks over the last day representing only 0.43% of total rewards received by miners.
