Bitcoin Dominance Rises as Altcoin Performance Diverges
The cryptocurrency market showed mixed results on Tuesday, with Bitcoin and Ethereum experiencing modest gains while major altcoins diverged. This uneven performance suggests that risk appetite remains selective rather than broadly distributed across the sector.
BTC rose to $64,001.72, up 1.01% over the past 24 hours, outperforming ETH at $1,892.11, which gained 0.24%. Large-cap altcoins saw split price action: XRP climbed 1.71%, while BNB slipped 0.07% and Solana fell 0.17%. Tron and Dogecoin gained 0.64% and 0.29%, respectively.
BTC's dominance increased to 58.80%, up 0.23 percentage points, as its share of the total crypto market cap rose. This shift towards BTC typically signals that capital is concentrating in the most liquid benchmark asset rather than dispersing into the broader altcoin complex.
