Bitcoin Dominance Rises as Institutions Flock to Spot ETFs
Institutional investors are increasingly buying Bitcoin through spot ETFs, while retail traders are focusing on other assets such as meme coins and AI tokens.
Alice Liu, Head of Research at CoinMarketCap, noted that 'institutions are buying Bitcoin through ETFs. Retail is trading everything else through a phone.'
The data from CoinMarketCap shows that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF assets under management climbed from about $79 billion to $102 billion over the month as of Sept. 10, a roughly $23 billion increase.
This suggests that institutional exposure is becoming increasingly concentrated around the largest digital asset rather than spreading evenly across the broader crypto market.
