Bitcoin Dominance Slips Below 60% as Altcoins and Privacy Gain Ground
Bitcoin's share of the cryptocurrency market has dropped to 58.5%, falling below the closely watched 60% level as altcoins recover and privacy-focused assets attract renewed attention.
The Altcoin Cycle Signal reached 81.25, while the broader altcoin market capitalization has climbed about 33% since mid-August. However, the Altcoin Season Index remains neutral, indicating that widespread altcoin outperformance has not started yet.
This market shift comes as institutional Bitcoin investment creates a different backdrop from earlier crypto cycles. Bitcoin exchange-traded funds now provide a direct route for institutional capital into the largest cryptocurrency, which may reduce the amount of money rotating from Bitcoin into smaller digital assets.
