Bitcoin's price has continued to decline in 2026, falling by over 50% from its October record high near $126,000. According to Binance Research, this marks a third consecutive quarterly loss across broader financial markets worldwide.

The asset has spent 275 days below its peak and the current market downturn is showing no signs of abating. On-chain data shows that 10.83 million BTC ended the period in unrealized loss, while 9.22 million units remained profitable.

This crossover marks a significant milestone, as similar patterns have historically appeared near major Bitcoin market bottoms before stronger recoveries followed.

However, Binance Research cautioned that historical patterns alone cannot confirm the current cycle will produce the same outcome.
