Bitcoin Draws Leopold-Style Volatility as Adoption Set to Soar

Financial strategist Jordi Visser has likened Bitcoin's return profile to that of Leopold Aschenbrenner's collapsed hedge fund, Situational Awareness. The fund peaked at nearly $45 billion and employed as much as 400% leverage before being forced to liquidate its public portfolio to Citadel.

'Arguably, Bitcoin is the best hedge fund ever,' Visser said, citing the cryptocurrency's volatile early history as a parallel to Aschenbrenner's situation. 'Its returns look like Leopold's. We have corrections. Leopold gave up 70, 80% of his gains. Well, Bitcoin at the very early start gave up 70, 80% of its gains.'

Visser noted that investors who had ignored Bitcoin for years would 'knew better' in traditional hedge fund logic, as they tend to put their money with managers having a long track record despite asset volatility. He also expects AI agents to drive adoption 'through the roof' once they start allocating on behalf of investors with zero crypto exposure.
