Bitcoin Edges Out AI in Google Searches Amid Bull Run Fears
Google Trends data suggests that people are more interested in buying Bitcoin than investing in AI. According to a chart shared by Ki Young Ju, founder of Cryptoquant, searches for 'how to buy bitcoin' have been trending up since March, while searches for 'investing in AI' peaked in December 2025 and have been declining since then.
The trend is similar when comparing other cryptocurrency assets. Searches for buying Bitcoin substantially beat all the mentioned queries, except for AI, which is a more complex and diverse sector. Buying Bitcoin is a relatively straightforward process compared to investing in AI, as it can be done through various means such as centralized exchanges, peer-to-peer platforms, brokers, or ETFs.
Investing in AI, on the other hand, requires putting money into specific entities, whether they are companies or funds tracking the sector. While giant AI labs like OpenAI and Anthropic may offer investment opportunities through pre-IPO futures or tokens, these are not as accessible to individual investors as buying Bitcoin.
