Bitcoin Enters October with Strong Seasonal Pattern, Key Price Levels in Sight
Bitcoin started October near $85,000, its highest level in months. This marks a strong seasonal pattern for the cryptocurrency, as it has posted positive returns in 10 out of 13 years from 2013 to 2025, with average gains around 19% and median in the low-teens.
The market's setup is considered unusually clean, with institutional demand being one of its strongest arguments. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $2.4 billion last week in its best week since October 2025, while strategy purchases another 1,665 BTC, bringing its holdings to 847,666 BTC, a stash valued near $72 billion as of this writing.
The key test now is holding the $82,000 area and breaking $87.5K. According to Lacie Zhang, research lead at Bitget Wallet, 'seasonality alone is not an investment thesis.' She places her October base-case range at $78,000 to $95,000, with a clean move above $87,500 opening the path toward $95,000.
