Bitcoin ETF Inflow Triggers $1 Billion Short Squeeze

Nearly $1 billion flowed into spot Bitcoin ETFs in a single day, triggering a short squeeze that liquidated hundreds of millions of dollars in bets against Bitcoin.

Bitcoin reclaimed its highest level since January on September 22, reaching $87,000 after U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $998.95 million on Monday.

The largest single-day inflow since October 6, 2025 was led by BlackRock's IBIT with $381.37 million, followed by Ark's ARKB at $289.12 million and Fidelity's FBTC at $238.84 million.

Total liquidations across crypto markets hit $746.6 million over 24 hours, with short positions taking the majority of the damage at $647.9 million.
