Bitcoin ETF Inflows Hit $6.34B as BTC Price Jumps 43% in Q3
Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $6.34 billion in the third quarter, with a strong rebound in institutional demand coinciding with a 42.71% quarterly gain in BTC price. The recovery reversed roughly $5 billion in second-quarter net outflows and marked the strongest inflow period for the funds in 2026. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust remained the largest U.S. spot Bitcoin product by assets, with about $67.07 billion in net assets on September 25.
The BTC price gain was its strongest quarterly advance since the fourth quarter of 2024 and its best third-quarter return since 2017. Monthly returns remained positive throughout the quarter, with Bitcoin gaining 7.36% in July, 24.95% in August, and 6.33% in September. However, the quarter ended with net outflows of about $149 million in September, which tempered the final momentum.
Ether exchange-traded funds also recovered during the quarter, attracting about $3.05 billion and gaining roughly 71% during the same three-month period. Other crypto funds posted smaller inflows, with XRP exchange-traded funds attracting about $308 million during the quarter.
