Bitcoin ETF Inflows Persist Despite Slumping Crypto Search Interest
Google's search data for cryptocurrency-related topics has declined, but Bitcoin continues to attract investment inflows. According to Alphractal, crypto interest on Google is at its lowest since 2024, with searches remaining below their large spikes in 2025. However, recent data shows that $2.39 billion in net inflows entered U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs during September 21-25.
The gap between search interest and investment activity can be attributed to existing investors holding or trading without researching crypto again, while new buyers can enter through services they already use. This disconnect requires evidence beyond searches to determine the level of demand in the market.
Falling Google interest measures relative search interest, not absolute search counts. A decline can indicate weaker attention, but it cannot measure investors leaving the market. Alphractal's chart stacks search series for assets, exchanges, and platforms, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance, and Coinbase.
