Bitcoin ETF Inflows Soar as Institutional Demand Continues to Grow
US spot Bitcoin (BTC.CC) ETFs experienced their largest inflow day since January on September 3, with $731 million flowing into the funds. BlackRock's IBIT accounted for $454 million of that amount.
This influx is part of a larger trend, with over $3.8 billion entering spot Bitcoin ETFs in the last three weeks. Total assets now sit at around $101 billion, having pulled in nearly $1 billion last week alone.
Despite Bitcoin's price dropping back below $80,000 after the jobs report was released on Friday, the ETFs continued to attract investment, with another $175 million flowing in that day. This trend suggests that institutional demand is being driven by spot Bitcoin ETFs rather than just the price of Bitcoin itself.
However, it's worth noting that year-to-date Bitcoin ETF flows are still roughly $1 billion in the hole, depending on the data source. Additionally, ETFs for other assets like ETH and XRP have seen their recent inflow streaks break.
