Bitcoin ETF Net Inflows Decline Amid Ongoing Volatility
US spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen their cumulative net inflows decline from $63 billion in October 2025 to around $55 billion as of mid-September 2026. Despite this drop, total Bitcoin holdings across these ETFs remain stable at approximately 649,000 BTC. The value of these assets fluctuates between $95 billion and $103 billion depending on Bitcoin's price. In late August and early September, there was a surge in inflows followed by sharp outflows in mid-September. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust leads in inflows, while Grayscale's GBTC has faced significant outflows as investors shift to lower-fee alternatives.
This trend reflects ongoing volatility and changing investor sentiment in the Bitcoin ETF space. The market dynamics are influenced by factors such as fees, performance, and regulatory changes. As a result, some investors have begun to favor alternative options over traditional ETFs like Grayscale's GBTC.
