Bitcoin ETF Outflows Total $265M as Ether Gains Favor
U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw significant outflows on July 31, totaling $265.4 million. Blackrock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led the retreat with $122.7 million in redemptions, followed by Fidelity's FBTC at $54.8 million.
The reversal is striking because it came just a day after bitcoin ETFs pulled in $233.1 million on July 30. IBIT alone attracted $183.4 million on that day, accounting for about 79% of the total inflows.
Spot ether ETFs bucked the trend with net inflows of roughly $9.03 million on July 31, led by Blackrock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA). This divergence is part of a broader rotation in institutional interest towards altcoin-linked products.
