Bitcoin ETFs Add $189M to August Totals, Pushing Month Close to $1 Billion
Bitcoin ETFs are back on track for August after adding another $189.3 million to their total inflows, pushing the month's tally close to $1 billion. This surge comes after a brief setback earlier in the month when three consecutive sessions saw about $250 million exit the market.
The latest session saw BlackRock and Fidelity lead the way with significant contributions to the August totals. The two firms' products, iShares Bitcoin Trust and Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund respectively, added $143.6 million and $23.9 million to their respective holdings. Overall, the combined inflows from these sessions now account for more than half of August's total net inflows, which stand at around $951 million.
Meanwhile, Bitwise scored a notable $16.15 million single-day gain into its BITB product, deploying the capital immediately to purchase 250 BTC on the spot market. The company's leadership highlighted the inflow publicly but also cautioned investors about regulatory risks and the lack of traditional protections in US spot crypto ETFs.
