Bitcoin ETFs Attract Record $2.65 Billion in September, Institutional Demand Remains Strong
US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw significant inflows in September, with $2.65 billion pouring in, marking the second-largest single-month inflow since October 2025. Despite being lower than the $3.52 billion recorded in August, this September total still reflects continued institutional demand for Bitcoin ETFs. Analysts note that this demand 'has not waned,' with Q4 sentiment and macroeconomic data remaining key focal points.
According to SoSoValue data, spot Ethereum ETFs also recorded $832.43 million in inflows in September, their second-largest single-month inflow since August 2025. This total is significantly lower than the $1.85 billion recorded in August. Institutional demand for Ethereum ETFs seems less intense, but still substantial.
Dominick John, an analyst at Zeus Research, believes that ETF inflows indicate a more sustainable recovery. 'With the Q4 bottom seemingly established, sustained ETF inflows are also signaling improving market sentiment and may set a more bullish tone heading into the final quarter of the year,' John said.
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index stood at 69, indicating that sentiment has strengthened but has not yet reached extreme levels. Analysts will continue to monitor ETF flows to gauge whether institutional demand persists, while keeping an eye on key US economic data, such as the October 8 initial jobless claims report, inflation data, and Fed commentary.
